Fueled By Ramen recording group The Front Bottoms have announced the release of their much anticipated new album. “BACK ON TOP” arrives everywhere on Friday, September 18th.  Produced by Joe Chiccarelli (Beck, The Strokes, White Stripes).

The Front Bottoms will herald “BACK ON TOP” with an extensive US headline tour deemed the “Back On Tour” which will include special guests The Smith Street Band and Elvis Depressedly. The fall trek is set to get underway with a two night stand at New York City’s Irving Plaza on October 14th and 15th. In addition, The Front Bottoms have also announced a European leg of the “Back On Tour,” which will kick off February 4th at Club Academy in Manchester, United Kingdom.  All of the UK dates on the tour will feature support from Kevin Devine and the Goddamn Band.

The Front Bottoms have delivered a powerful new album with “BACK ON TOP,” their first for Fueled By Ramen.  The Record is both full of departures and a continuation of the work they’ve been building on for years.  Brian Sella (Vocals/Guitar) and Mat Uychich (Drums) have put together a vibrant array of new material with band mates Tom Warren (Bass) and Ciaran O’Donnell (Guitar, Horns, Keyboards).  The growth and confidence shows in the work of this unit of four.  While there is plenty that is familiar from Mat’s powerhouse drumming to Brian’s acoustic guitar and a healthy dose of horns, there is also plenty that is new, including bigger rock sounds (“Motorcycle,” “West Virginia,” “The Plan (Fuck Jobs)”) and surprisingly melodic vocal parts (“Cough It Out,” “HELP”). There’s even a guest turn from Jersey rapper GDP who takes their darker side to even darker places in the “Historic Cemetery.”

Formed in New Jersey, The Front Bottoms have garnered critical acclaim thanks in part to a never ending tour schedule and a prolific run of releases beginning with their acclaimed 2011 self-titled debut.  “The community that's formed around these songs — as total strangers purge deep emotions in a public space — is a beautiful phenomenon, a testament to the passion and compassion that this band radiates” exclaimed NPR’s Bob Boilen while SPIN declared that the Garden State group “excel at crafting folk-inflected pop-punk, songs occupied by characters that are too smart (and too sensitive) for their own good.”
