The first part of this album offers a height of Gregorian repertoire, the office of complines as Cistercian monks formerly sang it. An office, which peaks with the great Cistercian Salve Regina, last sung prayer before the great silence of the night.

The second part of this album mostly includes excerpts from one of the most poignant books of the Bible: the Book of Job, a deep reflection on human condition and hope. Another Gregorian masterpiece: The Vir erat offertory that we can hear in the entirety of its four verses.

Founded in 1974, the Gregorian Choir of Paris has become a reference in Gregorian chant, especially thanks to tenor Hervé Lamy’s impulse.
