Formed in 1995 by Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel, AIR established themselves as one of the most influential French bands of their generation. A leading force of the French Touch movement, the duo transcended the boundaries of electronic music by creating a distinctive sound that blends pop, ambient, psychedelic rock, jazz and film music. Their refined, timeless aesthetic has earned them lasting international acclaim, particularly across Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States and Japan.
This box set brings together the four albums that defined AIR's reputation between 1998 and 2004 with an exclusive poster:
Moon Safari (1998): A true classic of contemporary electronic music. The duo achieved worldwide success thanks to now-iconic tracks such as La Femme d'Argent, Sexy Boy, Kelly Watch the Stars and All I Need. Selling several million copies worldwide, the album remains a defining landmark of the French Touch movement.
The Virgin Suicides (2000): This Redux edition, released in 2025, reveals a more atmospheric and contemplative side of the band. Tracks such as Playground Love, Highschool Lover and Dark Messages remain among the most celebrated pieces in their catalogue.
10 000 Hz Legend (2001): AIR deliberately challenged expectations by delivering a more ambitious and experimental work. Now widely recognised as one of the duo's boldest achievements, featuring standout tracks including Electronic Performers, Radio #1, How Does It Make You Feel? and Don't Be Light.
Talkie Walkie (2004): Marked a return to a more melodic and understated approach. Produced with Nigel Godrich, the album captivated listeners with its elegance and subtlety through songs such as Cherry Blossom Girl, Run, Surfing on a Rocket and Alone in Kyoto.
Across these four essential albums, AIR created a body of work that has left a profound mark on modern electronic music. More than twenty-five years after their debut, Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel continue to inspire generations of musicians.
