Don Mentony Band

Don Mentony Band is a blues, boogie and rock and roll group from Slovenia. They became recognised in the late 1980s with the remake of the song "Tulsa Time (Dobra Mrha)". The original band members were Janez Hostnik (Guitar), Frenk Brajer (Bass), Robert Fritsch (Drums), Jani Kovačič (Singer) and animator Miha Mentony. The band was soon expanded by another guitarist Janez Zmazek Žan. Zmazek soon took over the lead and there were a couple changes made in the band. In the begining of 1992, after releasing 3 albums their bass player and singer left them, so Zmazek took over the singing part. Another bass player joined them later that year (Aleksander Cepuš), and in April they started performing live. They performed at Val 202, Križanke (MC ZKP RTV 1992), Benefit Concert for Bosnia & Herzegovina...

After the concerts, they started a collaboration project with Janko Ropret, perfromed at Festival Morja In Sonca in Portorose and as a main guest on a pop workstop in 1992. Soon after the project the band members started to change rapidly, and the band soon disbanded.

After a period of inactivity, they started performing again in 2010.
