In 2018 we will commemorate the 30th anniversary of the passing of Chet Baker (May 13, 1988). Couple of years ago, at Harmonia Mundi, as official distributor of the latest Chet Baker official albums (produced by Enja) and a large part of his best official recordings (Steeplechase, Criss Cross), we have acquired over the years a certain expertise. We noticed that Chet Baker was one of a few jazz artists whose sales scores can compete with those of the 'pop'.
In 2008 & 2010 Le Chant du Monde has been able to publish two box-set bringing together all of his 'American' recordings period 1952 - 1959. Today, and for the first time, we are able to offer you the true 'American AND European' complete studio recordings 1952 - 1959, in two separate boxes of 10 cd each.
"The Thrill Is Gone (The Complete Studio Recordings 1952 - 1956)" is the first volume of the collection. The 40-page booklet offers an exciting presentation in French and English, an original iconography, and particularly detailed credits.
