With Nechacha – named after the flagellum, the ancient Egyptian symbol of rule held by pharaohs and gods – MAAHES return: heavier, more orchestral, darker. The second full-length album from the German black metal formation marks a clear progression: a more epic sound and deeper atmosphere, without losing the raw core of earlier works. While Reincarnation was more firmly rooted in classic black metal, Nechacha opens new realms – driven by orchestral elements and melodic weight, reminiscent of early Dimmu Borgir without imitation.
Lyrically, Nechacha remains uncompromising: no myths as mere scenery, but a deep immersion into ancient Egyptian ritual, magic, occultism, hubris, and the legacy of a fallen world. Between rebirth and madness, dominion and destruction, the album manifests its vision with clarity – in sound, word, and conviction.
