“With Stanley Myers and Hans Zimmer, Milan Music crossed the English Channel and discovered Anglo-Saxon filmmaking, as well as an entirely new approach to film music. I made sure to spend at least one day a month at Lillie Yard Studios where Hans was already playing around on computers.
In the evening, we would get together and have one or several drinks at Stanley’s, always accompanied by marvelous looking ladies charmed with his aristocratic stuttering. And then came A World Apart.
Barry Levinson forced MGM’s hand to hire Hans as the composer for Rain Main, but the studio required he compose and record in Los Angeles. 
Before his departure for the New World, we had lunch together in a small restaurant behind Harrod’s. We both felt that this was the end of an era, but it turned out to be a magnificent prologue.
