Sledge was a commercial success from his first release, his soul classic ‘When a Man Loves a Woman’ which has been a hit many times over. Sledge also had hits with Warm and Tender Love, That’s How Strong My Love Is and Try A little Tenderness to name but a few.

King was undoubtedly one of the most influential soul artists from his era, releasing a whole catalogue of top charting tracks - most famous was his smash hit ‘Stand By Me’ which like When A Man Loves A Woman has been a hit many times over.
