This January saw Django Django return to the fore with new superb single ‘First Light’, the first from their new album ‘Born Under Saturn’.   Today the band proudly announce the release of their second single ‘Reflections’, a huge floor-filler that swirls with sophistication.  Big, bold chords, a mammoth hook-laden chorus and a brilliantly euphoric melody; this is the sound of Django Django arriving.

Singer and guitarist, Vinnie Neff explains the lyrics:

“Reflections is a story about someone who has dedicated their whole life to finding something, but only then realising that what they left behind was more important. Featuring Roller Trio's James Mainwaring in the middle 8 on the saxophone”

Having built a reputation for energetic live shows since their introduction to the masses in 2012, this summer will see the band tour the UK and Europe, including a newly announced headline slot on the Festival Republic Stage at Reading & Leeds this August.

The band recently celebrated their return by playing a handful of exhilarating, sweaty warm up shows in the north of England and in London.  The shows saw fans crammed in like sardines and dancefloors bouncing.

Met with rave reviews, The Guardian wrote: “Django gigs were always physical affairs but this one ups the ante… Django are back with a big bang” (4*) whilst NME said, “the crowd freaks out over the scattergun percussions of ‘WOR’ and ‘Silver Ray’ but it’s the new songs that linger” (9/10), and The Independent said “the new material reveals a more considered, laid back approach” (4/5).

Django Django consists of vocalist and guitarist Vinny Neff, drummer Dave Maclean (a brother of Beta Band's keyboard player John Maclean), Jimmy Dixon on bass and Tommy Grace on keyboards. They met at Edinburgh College of Art but formed in Dalston, London in 2008. The band released their eponymous debut album in January 2012, combining 80s pop rhythms with 60s Beach Boys-style vocal harmonies, a style that some, rightly or wrongly, have labelled folktronica.
