In the late 1960s and early 1970s Krautrock came up in Germany and changed music forever. It is the fusion of rock and jazz, psychedelia, avant-garde, experimental and it even gave birth to electronic music in general. Bands like Neu!, Can and especially Kraftwerk influence musicians all over the world until now and will remain the big bang of a new era.
The Krautrock Vinyl Special Series will bring back legendary albums which are sold out on vinyl for many years and have a huge demand on Discogs. More than 50 years after their release these albums still transport the feeling of musical freedom and awakening.
The re-issues will be newly remastered for vinyl in 2024 to give listeners the best possible sound experience, always having the spirit of it’s original recordings in mind.
We will kick off this series with two releases in September.
Asterix: The short-lived band was a direct precursor of Lucifer’s Friend, having in fact the same exact line up of vocalist John Lawton, guitarist Peter Hesslein, organist Peter Hecht, bassist Dieter Horns and drummer Joachim Rietenbach. Their sole eponymous album was originally released in 1970. The album, which has been out of print for a long time, has finally been remastered for vinyl and is being reissued as a 1LP.
Kin Ping Meh: Kin Ping Meh was founded in 1970 in Mannheim, Germany. The band got known in the Krautrock scene with their exciting mixture of pop rock with progressive and psychedelic elements. Concrete is the band’s fifth album and their first live album recorded during their tour in 1975 showing the band at it’s best. The album, which has been out of print for a long time, has finally been remastered for vinyl and is being reissued as a 2LP.
