This five piece, who met while at university in Bristol, are proving to be a band who are relentlessly on the rise. A growing body of songs has been earning them huge amounts of praise amongst the online community & beyond. Their anthem track “Oceans", has hit 4 million plays on their Soundcloud alone. A Rush of Blood, the lead track from their last EP of the same name, was premiered as Zane Lowe’s Hottest Record on Radio 1 recently, with Zane calling it “absolutely huge”. The band’s next single Modern Love received its first play as one of Zane Lowe’s final record ‘Hottest Records’ before departing Radio 1 for Apple.
Non stop touring in 2014 included smash sets at both Radio 1's Big Weekend and Future Festival which has built a quickly growing group of fans across the country cumulating in a short UK tour, including a sold out Heaven in London to round off the year. The band even managed to fit in an appearance in Channel 4’s Made In Chelsea where they performed three songs. Fresh off the back of being chosen as ones to watch by the likes of iTunes, Spotify and XFM, this year kicked off with an appearance at BBC Radio 1’s Future Festival, hosted by Zane Lowe live from London’s Maida Vale Studios. This was immediately followed by an extensive coast to coast US tour with Bad Suns. They have been receiving a rapturous reception Stateside and are being hailed as the next “huge British band”. A month long heading tour of club sized venues has just been announced running from April 10th to May 10th, one of which in Philadelphia has already sold out.
Coasts return to the UK next month to finish work on their debut album. Their next London show on March 30 at London’s Scala has already sold out and a date at Camden’s Koko on June 10th has just gone on sale. Appearances at the prestigious US festivals Coachella and Lollapalooza are in the bag, while in the UK The Isle of Wight, and Leeds and Reading are confirmed so far. More dates, on both sides of the Atlantic will be announced shortly.
2015 looks like being the year that Coasts, fast becoming Britain’s hardest working band, make their major breakthrough. Their next single will be released in June, and the debut album, as yet untitled will follow later in the summer.
