Manca Izmajlova
Manca was born in a family of music lovers. She was getting acquainted with classical music and opera from an early age. She attended music school and played the flute for several years but very soon gave her heart to singing. At the age of fifteen she took her first singing lessons and one year later came her first solo performance. She sang Memory from the musical Cats at the “First Voice of Gorenjska” competition and won second prize. Soon after that her almost professional journey as a singer started. Accompanied by a pianist she sang in a cocktail bar in Bled and in a café in Kranj. After watching musical Cats in Austria she decided to quit University of Law and continue her education at the Mountview Theatre Academy in London where she studied musical theatre and graduated as an actress. In her spare time she worked as a sales assistant in a boutique and during the summer sang in Slovene hotels. After leaving London she took part in an international theatre project in Africa and a year later in Germany; among other it was preformed at the Expo 2000 in Hanover. In Slovenia she became famous practically over night for being the face and the voice of »Vesna's Song« in the commercial for Mobitel. She appeared in several theatre shows, translated and directed two musicals, of which one was awarded with the best show prize at the biggest Slovene amateur theatre competition Čufarjevi dnevi.Soon after that she was offered to host her own saturday evening show at Slovene national TV. The show was called »Care for a Dance? « (Povabilo na ples), it featured a live big band and Manca sang with it regularly. At the same time her first record »My World« (Moj svet) with the jazz band NORDunk was released. The CD was received with success, was presented at several festivals and won first prize at the Slovene Chanson Festival. Manca was also very successful with a series of concerts called »Journey through a Century of Musicals« and she still performs with this programme occasionally. Her unstoppable desire to get to know all the nuances of the singing technique and the rich palette of styles took her abroad once more - to Moscow. She started to study opera singing at the Academic Music College of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory with prof. Valentina Sharonova, soloist of the Moscow Philharmonic. At the present she is completing her studies at the College and promoting a beautiful music project with the Russian State Symphonic Cinema Orchestra, called “Slavic Soul”. This unique in the world album contains a selection of most beautiful Slavic songs in new arrangements, from classics till today. Manca has had more than 300 concerts by now, but her artistic journey has only just begun and will bring her listeners many more special feelings.

Galeb i ja
Kje so tiste rožice
Dorogoj dlinnoju
Tamo daleko
Net, tol'ko tot, kto znal
