Selling more than 70 million records worldwide, Duran Duran are credited as ‘the best British band of the 80s’ and key to the progression of new wave music and the pop rock community. The double Grammy award winning English group have released a staggering 13 studio albums over their lengthy career with another to be released in September alongside a vast collection of compilations and live releases.
Duran Duran’s platinum-certified Notorious was produced by Nile Rodgers; its release in 1986 followed the Grammy-winning band’s third album, Seven and The Ragged Tiger, by three years. The title track reached #2 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, and was revisited by The Notorious B.I.G. in 1999 as the sampled foundation of his eponymous single. The album showcased a new musical direction for the band, emphasising bass and brass through the singles ‘Notorious’ and ‘Skin Trade’.
