Pet Shop Boys will release a Blu-ray/CD of their concert film ‘Dreamworld: The Greatest Hits Live at the Royal Arena Copenhagen’ on 2nd May 2025.
The full concert film, which was screened by Trafalgar Releasing in cinemas worldwide in 2024, will now be available to fans to enjoy at home with a video/audio 1Blu-ray/2CD package.
The film captures the spectacular stage show of the Pet Shop Boys tour with dazzling visuals and a bumper set list packed with classic hits, including ‘West end girls’, ‘Suburbia’, ‘Opportunities (Let’s make lots of money)’, ‘Left to my own devices’, ‘Rent’, ‘Domino dancing’, ‘Love comes quickly’, ‘Always on my mind’ and ‘It's a sin’.
The film was recorded at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen in July 2023 as part of Pet Shop Boys’ critically acclaimed ‘Dreamworld: The Greatest Hits Live’ tour. Directed by the renowned David Barnard, the film was captured using a 14-camera 4K shoot to ensure an immersive experience for viewers. It also features a PCM Stereo and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround mix which was remixed and produced by David and Mike Woolley.
Coinciding with the 40th anniversary of PSB’s first record release, the concert film was released in cinemas worldwide at the start of 2024 for fans to enjoy on the big screen. ‘Dreamworld: The Greatest Hits Live’ is the duo’s first ever greatest hits tour and has so far played to audiences in the UK, Europe, and North and South America. The tour received outstanding reviews with The Guardian describing the show as “fabulous”, while The Times said it was “clever, stylish, sometimes poignant, often euphoric”, and NME described it as “a two-hour joyous celebration of their decades of holding pop to a higher standard".
Pet Shop Boys have sold more than 50 million records, released 60 singles spanning five decades and are the most successful UK duo of all time. Prestigious awards have been numerous across their career including the BRIT Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music in 2009 and the Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music in 2000.
In April 2024 they released their fifteenth album, ‘Nonetheless’, on Parlophone Records – their first with producer James Ford. The record includes the singles ‘Loneliness’, ‘Dancing star’, ‘A new bohemia’ and ‘Feel’ and reached Number 2 in the UK album chart in its first week of release – their highest-charting studio album since 1993. A special expanded edition of the album was released in November featuring the full record, four new bonus songs, including a cover of David Bowie’s ‘All the young dudes’, and the original demo versions of all the tracks on the album.
In July Pet Shop Boys concluded the latest UK and European dates of their ‘Dreamworld: The Greatest Hits Live’ tour with a sold-out residency at London’s Royal Opera House which received five-star press reviews. In autumn last year they made three spectacular TV appearances in the UK, headlining BBC Radio 2’s ‘Party in the Park’ from Preston, the MTV EMAs from Manchester, and being the musical guests in two consecutive ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ shows on BBC One.
