In 2023, Warner Music France has plans to honour the late artist Edith Piaf on the 60th anniversary of her passing. We are set to release an album that showcases Edith Piaf's most beloved songs, featuring new orchestral arrangements. Warner Music holds the rights to all of Edith Piaf's original recordings since 1946, and we have previously collaborated with the rights holders on several projects to commemorate her career. These projects have included compilations, reissues, and retrospective box sets, all aimed at celebrating the remarkable musical journey of Edith Piaf.

One notable release was the comprehensive 20-CD box set in 2015, created by Warner Music France's catalog team, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Edith Piaf's birth. This box set received the Grammy Award for Best Boxed or Special Limited Packaged in 2016. The same team will oversee the project presented here.

For this new project, temporarily named “Symphonique,” Warner Music France will collaborate with prod203 studio, responsible for the artistic direction and recording of the new masters. (see attached detailed PDF). The concept is to combine Edith Piaf’s original vocals with new arrangements featuring string instruments, bronze, piano, and more. The goal is to offer the audience a fresh perspective on the artist’s work while remaining true to the original essence of the songs.

The 2023 production aims to appeal to a wider audience by presenting a sound that aligns with current production standards. Along with the standard 24-bit stereo versions, the recording is also planned to be released in Dolby Atmos format. A comprehensive promotion and marketing plan will support this project during and after its release.
