Sir Cliff Richard will celebrate his 75th birthday with a newly released triple-disc collection of his greatest hits –including a brand new studio track.
The new song – ‘Golden’ – is a tribute to Sir Cliff’s army of fans for the support they have shown during his stellar career.
Written by long standing writer friend Chris Eaton – who also wrote Saviour’s Day - it was originally penned in time to mark his 50 years in the music business in 2008. Cliff performed it in his concerts that year - but it has only now been recorded.
It will feature on the compilation album – Cliff Richard ’75 at 75’ – to be released by Rhino Records on 18th September.
As well as ‘Golden’, the new triple-disc collection of Cliff’s greatest hits features an incredible list of hit singles including ‘Living Doll’, ‘The Young Ones’, ‘Summer Holiday’, ‘We Don’t Talk Anymore’ the Christmas classic ‘Mistletoe and Wine’, ‘Devil Woman’ ‘Wired for Sound’, ‘Move It’ and many others.
Sir Cliff Richard is indisputably Britain’s all-time greatest hit-maker. No other UK band or solo artist is even close to equalling his 123 hit singles.
Highlights of this remarkable career are too numerous to mention, and include successful films, musicals, concert tours and even his own television show all contributing to the Cliff Richard legend.
As for his music, Sir Cliff holds the record (with Elvis Presley) as the only act to make the UK singles charts in all of its first six decades (1950s–2000s). He is also the only singer to have had a No. 1 single in the UK in 5 consecutive decades.
